The Best Freeware & Open-Source

I found this site while doing some searches for new software, and I have to say that on first glance it is an awesome resource for finding free or open-source software.
It isn’t cluttered with ads, it is separated into easy-to-understand sections, and the design doesn’t make your eyes bleed.

I use most everything in this list myself and use this list as a kind of bookmarking for myself, but there are a few freewares I haven’t used or tested. If you find anything containing spyware, malware, adware, or any other nasty please let me know so I can look into it, or at least remove the offending application. Some adware can simply be removed using Adaware allowing you to continue using the application with no problems - free cd burner is one where this is possible - it never adds anything else after install.
It does, however, have a 1995-esque counter at the bottom. Ah, those were the days.
